September 2009 Newsletter
New articles and Thesis from Farida Fahmy
Hello dear dancers,
I have taken some time to finish these articles - the main one is a tribute to Mahmoud Reda as August 6th 2009 marked our 50 wonderful years in dance. It is our golden jubilee - the article takes you on a journey through the evolution of Egyptian dance with Mahmoud's pioneering spirit.
Secondly, I have been designing and drawing the lovely Andalusian style Muwashahat costumes, so the first Reda costume e-book is out in Oct! I have also provided an article on the features of this style for you to read now.
Thirdly, thanks to Keti Sharif, my UCLA Thesis in now available in electronic format. She is also my web designer, so with the birth of her daughter in July, we slowed down a little - and I recently aquired two little silky terrier puppies which took some time from my schedule! But we are all now back in Cairo, chatting over coffee and cake...and creating more e-books and articles for you to enjoy.
Yours in Dance,
Farida Fahmy |
